Just completed my roster for the 2024 season.
A bit of a mix between points scorers and a little for next year, it's always hard to gauge what's the best route.
I kept a few from last year, suspect it could be the final year for Pidcock and Gregoire, even though the latter is still a baby.
My other keeper was Emil Herzog who had a health issue last year apparently, hopefully he can get back to showing the promise he exhibited in the Juniors, surely he can beat 4 points!
The five riders I brought in appear to be in my main WT team too except for Rafferty (who was a Neo I'd targeted but was snatched away before my draft). He's thought of as the next Roche by some so I'm hopeful of a few points from him. He did well in Valle d'Aosta and the Baby Giro and clearly has talent.
Next I'll move to Ben Turner. Bought him last year in the main game and looked great until injury in early Spring, with a bit of luck he'll be able to show himself like he did in 2022.
Tiberi is also looking good, particularly at the end of the season when he was keeping up with the best in Italy. Let's hope he doesn't harm any more cats.
My penultimate rider is Lars Boven. Winner of Flanders Tomorrow Tour in 2022, he was unfortunate to be in a ridiculously strong youth set-up with Hagenes, Staune-Mittet and Loe Van Belle being the chosen Neos for Visma this year, a move to Alpecin will no doubt give him more chances to impress, looks solid.
And finally, it was a tough choice between someone who was probably going to score more points this year and the pick I made. Welcome to Mathys Rondel of Tudor Devo, the next l'Avenir winner perhaps. I'm hopeful he'll be a stagiare later in the season as well as riding a few .pro races with the senior team. Pure climber.
